Posted October 31, 20186 yr Hello, I am searching for a good alternative device to the Victron Multiplus. While making researches I found those Volttronic Hybrids, sold in quite a lot of different Trademarks, such as Axpert, WKS, Super Watt, Solar, aso. I would ask you for your opinions and experiences of this device. I think it is interesting because of its price which is roughly just 1/3 of the price of the premium Trademark Victron. The functions it offers are largely enough for my needs- I would like to install it in a camper Truck, or more precizely our future rolling home. The only thing I really expect is that it is working properly so that I can count on it without having troubles while far away from home somewhere in the middle of nowhere. So please, there more infos I get the better! Kind regards, Benjamin

If you feel strongly about this part, then you need to go with the Victron. I am a Voltronic Fan, but leaning strongly over to the Blue side. In my opinion Voltronic can't match Victron in Reliability.
October 31, 20186 yr I have had a pair of 5Kva RCT inverters running a lodge in northern Botswana for 3.5 Years now and they were subjected to 0.75Kw electric pumps, 1.5Kw chop saws, angle grinders and even a complete dead short on the output on one occasion and survived. However, no argument that the build quality on Victron is the best I have seen and the accuracy of their voltage set points is unparalelled.Victron is extremely robust when subjected to unfriendly loads. Their Mppts provide the highest solar production of any product ive seen, and a whole lot better than the built --in MPPT on the RCT. My question in my mind is how well either of these products would hold up bolted to a truck body on a corrugated road - its a concern about mechanical stress. I would think you need to reduce that risk by finding suitable rubbery shock absorbing mounting method.
October 31, 20186 yr One more thought - the RCT's are quite cheap, if you have a mission critical application - you could have an extra unit just in case.

TTT said this a long time ago. If you could buy blue at a lower price, nobody would even look at these other units. The 3KVA Multiplus-II sells at around 12.5k from Current Automation right now. I know that's about twice the price of an Axpert (and you still need an extra MPPT), but you get what you pay for, starting with a very low quiescent consumption, which is probably worth it when you're out in the sticks. If you're not going to charge with grid power, you can lower costs even further by getting a Phoenix instead of a Multiplus. My bud @Jaco de Jongh is right. You should not compromise.
