Regulating Li ion charge to 4.0V instead of 4.2V

Hi Guys,

I'm planning with the sizing of my Li ion battery packs, and need to know how to limit the voltage of the cells to about 4.0V per cell, instead of 4.2V and also perhaps the discharged limit to about 3.1V - 3.0V.

I plan on building a 4S 40P Li ion cell pack, to give around 1kwh pack, and part of the issue, is to control the upper and lower limits. Your recommendations would be highly appreciated.

Regards

If you are going to use with an inverter and a charger, I suppose you will buy a BMS with 2 ports, so you can limit the charger to 4*4 V, and you should limite discharge with inverter, 4x3.

It would be better to make 3S*53P, because are typical values for charge&discharge.

Thanks for the info! Will do some reading up on the 3s layout to better understand.

Ive managed to get this setup today,
