Hybrid inverter startup query

Hi this is my first post but have been browsing and learning for some time so thanks to the plethora of information available.

Now my silly question: How can i startup a hybrid inverter without batteries present? Can a hybrid like an Axpert MKS for example startup from grid alone?

Some inverters require the presence of 48V for startup and continued operation, as the electronics are powered from this source, like an Axpert. Infini and many other

However, I'm sure you can start an Axpert from a 48V PSU, if you have one and haven't gotten around to acquire some batteries.

Also, there are inverters that do not require 48V for operation, but it is obvious, they won't act as an UPS when the Grid drops.

AFAIK, the "Hybrid" refers to the inverters ability to blend 3 different sources (battery, PV & Grid) seamlessly to provide the load (i.e. you don't notice the change over, as at least 2 sources need to be present) - they are referred to as "True Hybrids"

and normal "Hybrids" are like the Axpert, who physically switches (via relay) between Grid/PV/Batteries.

Lots of suppliers use this term very loosely, probably as marketing jargon.

So do your research many times, and buy once.

is the 2x 5kw InfiniSolar inverters you have mentioned in your status single or 3 phase?
If 3phase, please can i have an image of the setup? It would be a massive help as a guage.

I have 3ph power, but house is only on 1ph with both inverters in parallel due to whole house connected as is. So sometimes the demand is > than 5kW.

Looked for some pictures and discovered that the photos are 1 year old and i need to take some new ones this weekend.  And check the battery water levels and sg.
