bony999
Hello all I was sent a link to a company that provide components for inverters and I have a briken MKS4 5.6Kw inverter. From what I am able to gather the mppt the company sell if of rhte Kodak OGS 5.6 which it seems is an inverter also produced by Voltronics albeit under a different name. I am happy to pay the price for the item as well as delivery to the UK but thought I would ask the community if anyone knew definitively that this replacement board would be suitable as a replacement for the Axpert MKS 4. I just want to ensure it will not damage anything ele if I fit it as a replacement. I would of course ask Voltronic but they do not seem to reply to any customers requests only the re sellers ao that avenue seems closed. Any advice would be most welcome. Yes, same inverter from the same factory, just different paint (and sometimes metalwork). It should work fine.
bony999
Hi Coulomb I was hoping you would be able to tell me this as I am aware of your rather extensive knowledge in this area. I will get in touch with the comapny concerned and ask them to send me one. The item is comng from South Africa so do I need to make any note regarding the power supply voltage in the UK or is it totally irrelevant to the subject? Thanks very much Regards Bony999

Grid voltage is irrelevant to the Solar Charge Controller (MPPT).
bony999
Hi Coulomb I thought so but felt it wise to check. I am soon to dismanltle the Axpert and change the board when it arrives. Is there anything to watch out for or is it a case of open up and work my way to the component? Once I have changed it I will look at updating the firmware. I wrote a post on disassembly and reassembly for the now ancient PIP-4048MS here, if it's any use. Models have changed a lot over the years. It's also for gettting the main board out, so much of it may not be relevant or needed, if you are just swapping the MPPT board. bony999
Hi Coulomb Many thanks for the link to the instructions, I will study it before I even take the cover off. Hopefully a new board will sort these issues out I will wait and see. Thanks again Regards Bony999
