SilverNodashi
Hi, Does anyone have, or have used a Sunny TriPower 10Kw inverter? What's your take on it? Is it worth the money?
Guest
SMA inverters are top of the range. If you are looking at this, make sure the one you get is municipal approved. And make sure the one your get can operate off-grid, and not grid tie only. As you know, with Grid-tie, if Eskom is off, and there is sun, inverter is off unless you spend more monies to solve that. Mike
the sma tl11000 is a grid tied unit. you can use either a sunny island or a victron bidirectional for your battery backup component. The Sunny range is one of the best out there. Most of my german clients will always ask for SMA, then Fronious, Kaco then Victron... I am going to be getting myself a tl11000 and a Victron 8kva in the coming month, to create a hybrid system for myself but prefer the idea of seperate items in case of a failure. SilverNodashi
Thanx guys. This looks like a great unit but will be too expensive if it can't support batteries "out of the box". Adding another expensive piece of equipment to the equation makes it just too expensive to justify.

Wetkit
Mike, how come you going bigger and bigger? The Imeon not doing the job?
SilverNodashi
So I've decided to get an Inifinisolar 10Kw 3phase inverter instead. With 36x 255W Renesola Panels, setup in 2 strings of 18 panels each, it should work quick nicely The 255W PV's have a VOC of 35.1V, so 18 of these will give 631.8V, which is well within in the 350-850V MPP range. Mike
the 10kw 3phase infini is a nice unit..just remember to balance your loads across the 3 phases because if one of your phases exceed 3.3kw the system will overload. I have a goodwe and an Imeon, and now its time for me to upgrade again...too try something different...gotta learn you know!!

Guess we'll have to check the circuits in the house once the inverter is in. I'm probably getting it on Monday
