Jakes
Guys I had some 250W panels break because of the wind and thought it would be interesting to see if they could still generate some power. I've got a redundant controller and put one of the panels onto that, charging the batteries of a truck. The highest reading I saw was in the early 50 watts. Wetkit
Eish, looks like hail? Did your insurance cover that?
Jakes
It was the wind. I didn't know the Karoo well enough. The panels arrived here on a pallet. Neatly stacked with fancy plastic corner pieces. They were not tied down onto the pallet.. The wind took a couple of the panels from the stack and thought of inserting them into the mountings so long. I lost (only) 2. McWidowmaker
Eesh Jakes, hehe, better bolt it down properly. My panels on my roof is also a bit noisy. I better make sure they stay where they are.
SilverNodashi
I've heard before that sometimes a panel still works fine after shattering like this.
