pvdw22
Looking at the price of the Venus against the CC it is a easy choice to make but I do think it comes with a hidden price. The neat appearance of the CC is a big plus. As I mostly do domestic installs for a start this is a big issue to me. A neat install speak for itself and does not cost an arm and a leg extra to do. What do you guys do to tidy up the Venus?? Any suggestions or photos will be very helpful.
___
@Mstott's setup is really nice. They installed his Venus-GX inside another container so only the top shows. Really liked the way they did it. Edited July 14, 2019 by plonkster
pvdw22
Thank you Plonkster. This is what I call a neat install. The wiring to that Venus seems to be wired from the back. That "housing" around the Venus will work just as well with a neat trunking on the side toe give access to the Venus. I love the idea of making each install better and neater than the previous one. Mstott
Thanks gents , yes all cables run through the rear on my install . You can get a housing from most electrical suppliers and machine the lid .
___
Personally I don't mind an exposed cable or two. I simply use slotted trunking, put the Venus-GX (and I also have a network switch and Fibre-connection in the same area) close to the trunking. Then there is a bit of cable running out of the trunking into the Venus-GX, but the fingers of the trunking pins it down really nicely and you can hide some of the wire slack inside the trunking. pvdw22
Thank you Mstott and plonkster. I will look into both these suggestions. friend of mine offered to print a box but printing can get expensive, time consuming and i do not have any control over the process.
