Advise on Combining 4xAGM & 4xGel = 48v 400ah Bank

Hi Guyz,

Need some advise on combining:

4 x Narada AGM 200ah +ha02 and 4 x Algrande Gel 200ah +ha02 to form 48v 400ah Bank

Pros and cons?

Most folks would not recommend combining different batteries.

Never used it and don't know it intimately, but there is something called a "Cyrix" battery combiner from Victon...... that may help.

So how would you use that? Run one string of batteries and then switch to the other?

@sulyc, how are you going to charge these batteries? Are they very similar?

From Solar with Infini. Yes

Their specs and charging characterics are very similar, so they will probably be OK. However, subtle differences can make a big difference with batteries, you may find one type is doing all the heavy lifting, and the other string very little, similar to new and old batteries of the same type. In principle it is not a good idea, but maybe it all works out for you?
