Preferably on a Black Friday sale price?

SolarSolved has a Black Friday deal. AE Solar, R4.50/watt ex VAT. In other words... not THAT big a special... I bought Canadian Solar modules at less than that a while ago.

Where?

Right, so I actually had to go digging... because I bought those modules from YOU in February. So I made a mistake, they were actually slightly above R4.50/watt (ex VAT)... but my main point still stands. The SolarSolved deal is allegedly a Black Friday special... but it is just not. It's a single-digit saving from what other sellers already do 🙂

Caveat emptor!

It's the business principle that the buyer has the final responsibility. If you arrive home with your cool Black Friday deal, and you take out your trusty solar-powered calculator and work it out... and then realise you have been had... well you have only yourself to blame.

Nunc est bibendum!

I'm actually smirking a little about ExSolar's Black Friday Special. I mean, not a bad price for a normal business day (R5/watt ex VAT for Canadian Solar Mono panels). But it is hardly a Special let alone a Black Friday special.

I see somebody followed this exact approach:

That is the standard, from Takealot to solar suppliers. Also the reason I made a joke about it in my first reply, we warned all our work colleagues in out morning meeting not to get caught by this practice today.

Yes, this Black Friday is the best marketing gimmick yet.

A friend of mine wanted to buy some electronic goods online, so thought he would wait for Black Friday to see if he could get a better price.... Sure enough he got a 40% discount...but the price had also hiked by 40% from the previous day.
