viper_za
Hey guys My BMV SOC is jumping way too fast to 100% SOC. This seems to happen on the absorb stage of charging whenever I look away. When they are only drained a little like 95% SOC it does look like it's going to 100% slower. I have the trojan T105RE's 48v Bank 225aH Charger set to the following Max Charger current: 20A Bulk charge: 56.4v Float: 52.8v On the BMV settings Setting 02 Charged Voltage: 52.6v Setting 03 Tail Current: 4% (default) Setting 04 Charged detection time: 5min (default 3min) I suspect the problem is the tail current. Should I lower this to 1% or maybe even 0.9% Thanks Thys
Chris Hobson
Hi Thys Unfortunately you have to fiddle. Your charged voltage looks fine Tail current looks high Mine is set on 2.8% . If I set it on 2.7% it never goes to 100%. Charged detection 10 min and I am contemplating moving it higher. MY BMV still goes to 100% too early but not by much,

Chris Hobson
Obviously each battery bank is unique. I went with Dockarl's recommendations and found that they were not enough and modified down.

Chris Hobson
It is a process of fiddling. I am nearly there but have got involved in a myriad of other things - life I suppose!

___
As I recall you can sync it manually, an done you've done that it should be more accurate for a while? Also, the timeout should be set to at least 7 minutes if I recall the Victron training stuff correctly, possibly even longer.
