Posted February 17, 20169 yr A Cool and easy one. We planted some fast growing trees to keep the afternoon sun off the windows. Sincerely Jason
February 17, 20169 yr Previous owner did the same at my place. It works really well, but the shade is killing my lawn :-)
June 13, 20187 yr In my case, yes. Makes a mighty mess when the leaves drop each autumn. I also discovered it isn't the shade that is killing the lawn. It's sucking up all the water! That is what is killing the lawn. Also, I've had to move the television satellite dish because the trees started to block the signal. I'm not quite sure what to do about these trees now. They are nice and tall, break the wind, provide shade in summer... but the roots are going everywhere, suck up all the water, kills the lawn (what remained of it after the drought had a go at it). I can't pave the area because of the roots, can't put in fake lawn... I'll have to rip out the trees. But I kinda like the trees... :-(
