Hi

I'm doing a lot of work around my house and am busy in the garden at the moment.

I have buried a 110mm sewerage pipe around the perimeter of my garden, with a opening every 6m. I want to use this pipe as a sleeve for the irrigation pipe that runs from the borehole to the Jojo etc.

I am also looking at putting in electrical cable for irrigation valves and maybe lighting on the fence.

What type of cable is needed and allowed. 220v or lower voltage?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

For the irrigation (24VAC?) You could probably use whatever is cheapest yet thick enough for the distances involved. There are no regulations here, and its low voltage, so I'd just run them in the same pipe/raceway as the water.

For lighting, I'm not sure about running water and electricity in the same pipe. I'm also not sure about running the 24VAC in the same raceway as the 230VAC. I can imagine some fairly dreadful results of a 230VAC connection onto a 24V circuit which ends up electrifying the plumbing.

You can however bury surfix since it has metal stiffening, or so I've read. Just put it in deep enough. So just make the lighting wiring separate. Personally I'd prefer to put it in conduit. 20mm conduit is dirt cheap.
