Hi there.

Currently i have 4x 335 panels in a 2x2 configuration. These panels are connected to 6mm2 cable going throught a dc disconnect to my inverter

I am going to add 5 more panels and change the system to a 3x3 configuration. my inverter can handle max 145v OC

my question. A 6mm2 cable can carry 42A if it is a single cable. does that mean that 2x 6mm2 (single red and single black) will be able to carry 84A??

Ultimately i will have 3 runs of 6mm2 cable from the panels to a combiner with fuses about 1m from the inverter and then run a single cable to the inverter. but due to cost constraints i cant afford all the stuff i need to do this right now

I want to know will the 6mm2 cable be able to carry 9 panels in a 3x3 config for a month until i can purchase more cable?

If i run 4 x 6mm2 ( two black and to red) from the panels to the inverter and combine about 1m from the panels will that give me enough current carrying capacity for the 9 panels??

Last question if i have 4x 335w panels and 5 x 365w panels and i connect them in 3 strings, 1 of 3x 365 and 2 of 2x 335 +1x 365 will the one row of jut 365w panels give me issues? I know that the other 2 rows will effectively only produce 335 w x3 becuase of the current throughtput of the other 2 pannels. but i am concerned that my system will be unbalanced.

I can get 335w panels but the price is higher that the 365 w panels.

Hi there.

I can kick myself.

Ok so i Bought 5 more 330w panels My other panels were actually 330w

my question. A 6mm2 cable can carry 42A if it is a single cable. does that mean that 2x 6mm2 (single red and single black) will be able to carry 84A?? NO IT IS STIIL 42A

So the question above. Panels in series voltage goes up not current DUH!! So 3 panels in series the current stay around 9A and the voltage rises to around 110v

3 strings of 3 gives me 27A at 110v or 2970w

The 6mm2 cable is well within the specification.

OH thanks for answering myself :)

So i installed all the panels.

Yesterday at 13:00 I maxed out at 2.4kw generation.

I have a Mecer 3kva 2.4kw inverter The specs say the mppt can do 3000w but when it gets to 2.4 it stops.

I am going to connect a laptop today and check the generation from tomorrow morning.
