But it looks (from the photo of the PC board with his thumb on the neutral) as if that terminal is connected to the neutral to the left of it, so that if you merely connect an earth to it, it should apply the bonding we're looking for. @Weasel just needs to confirm. You could probably test it quite easily, doing a few voltage measurements to confirm that it is connected to neutral when running islanded, and disconnected otherwise.

This would be interesting, because I remember reading that Goodwe themselves recommended to create a fixed bond?

Not here though we bond all the earths. They try to accommodate all the options but the recommendation would have been based on region. To connect you would typically use a 3 core in and a 3 core out. you should connect all 6, i.e. L N E backup left and L N E Grid right. you can then bond the two earths permanently in the DB or in the little connection housing underneath, Bridge PE to backup earth. Importantly if you don't use the backup earth terminal on the inverter it wont bond the neutral when the grid fails. I can confirm this is the way it works. if you don't connect it neutral hovers at half of ac depending. if you do its millivolts.

July 23, 20205 yr Heres a nice pic of the setup...For non electrical types like me, where must the Backup earth go to, the E-Bar in the picture? Edited July 23, 20205 yr by FixAMess
July 23, 20205 yr Hi @Weasel - could you please indicate on the diagram the relay which bonds the neutral earth when inverter goes into is landing mode? Edited July 23, 20205 yr by Halcyon
