Updated firmware (both main and display)

Plugged in cable and it works. Thanks guys.

I noticed the battery has made the following changes to the settings.

Max charging (02) current has been reduced to 10A I had it on 30A I assume it will now fluctuate based on the battery's state of charge it is currently full.

Float voltage (27) has been set to 53.2v I had it as 50.3v

Low cutoff (29) has been set to 47v, I was using 46.5v.

Set your first dip switch to 1, thus 1-0-0-0, on all your batteries. That's what I meant in my earlier post and in the PDF file name where I included the information in brackets: "(Pylontec Axpert VMIII-KING Configuration (used for cable, set battery dip switches to 1000)".

The Axpert King/VMIII integration with the Pylontech BMS requires a baud rate of 9600, achieved by lifting the first dip switch on the batteries. After doing that, power down your batteries, power back on and then press the red button on your master (typically top) battery to start it up. Now set your inverter setting 05 to PYL with the custom RS485 cable connected and in less than 3 minutes, the battery icon on your inverter should start blinking, indicating that all is well with the Axpert-Pylontech BMS integration. Your SOC should then also be correct.

I was told by my supplier that only 1-0-0-0 should be used for the master battery, and that all my other 5 slaves should have the DIP switches set to 0-0-0-0. I have the cable to my Axpert VM III 5kW connected to the master and then the others are just daisy chained. From what you're saying, this isn't right. Are you sure all my batteries should be set to 1-0-0-0 ?

Please note that the UTP cable that came with the inverter is a standard ethernet cable for many of us Axpert King owners me included. The custom cable had to be crimped using the pin-outs in the attachment. I've shared this in multiple threads, seems people struggle to find the information when searching ;) Many people are struggling with this. Do these forums support sticky posts?

Pylontec Axpert VMIII-KING Configuration (used for cable, set battery dip switches to 1000).pdf 564.7 kB · 406 downloads

Good day,

I have made my cable configuration for the Pylontech US3000 with dips witches set to 1000 and it worked fine for the past two years.  I now bought a new Pylontech US3000C which I would like to make master.  Why doesn't this cable work anymore?  What cable should I use for my Axpert King to communicate with the US3000C?

There are 2 common errors when switching from US3000 to US3000C:

1) ADD switch in the US3000C is placed upside-down.
So, double-check the RS485 baudrate and address settings here.
Remember, that in order to apply new ADD switch settings, battery stack has to be restarted.

2) Oldest versions of Pylontech US had two sets of RS485 A/B pins in the RJ-45 port. US3000C has just one set of A/B pins.
Therefore, some cables work with the old batteries, while not with the new.
Also, while the pins 1-5 in the US3000C RJ-45 port has no name attached, there are some signals. Therefore, if the cable has these pins crimped, the inverter might experience communication issues with the BMS.

VERY OLD Pylontech US:

Good luck

Thank you Youda,

I disconnected the US3000B and only tried to run the US3000C (standalone)
I can confirm my pinouts of the RJ485 is the following:

6 ->
7 -> 5
8 -> 3

I can confirm that the "upside down" dip switches on US3000C are set to 1-0-0-0 (9600 baud)
05 is already set to PYL

I have restarted the whole system.  Still get Err61 after 2 mins.

QUESTIONS:
1) Could the RJ485 be faulty?
2) Could it be a firmware problem?

Thanks in advance and for your patience.

@Japie Muller how did you resolve this problem? Dont you mean 1000 as 0001 in the dipswith  representing 4,3,2,1?

I have the same problem. Axpert King 5000 + Pylon US5000. Cable 7,8 battery side to 5,3 inverter side doesn't work. Inverter shown 61 error and resets voltages.
Have you solver the issue?
