Posted February 26, 20205 yr I've recently had the following system installed at my house: 3kW Growatt Inverter 3 x 330W Canadian Solar Panels 2 x 200Ah 12V batteries (Champion 6FM200G) I'm not 100% convinced that the installers configured everything correctly and here is my thinking: Even when the system shows that the batteries are full, it will still use grid power (City Electric Bypass) and use the solar to "charge" the full batteries. It will do this even when the solar generates more than enough (550W) power to carry the load from the house (230W). Where does one get firmware updates for the Growatt? Might it be a simple firmware issue? I have switched the main incoming breaker from Eskom off and back on again, then the system functions as expected, using solar to carry the load and charge the batteries. This works fine until about 2am, when the batteries are low on power and require the Eskom power again to charge them up. As far as I know the battery setting should be set to "user" and then the charging voltage and floating point values will be used. Currently my battery type is set to the default. Anyway, that is my understanding. Anyone with experience on the Growatt systems?
February 26, 20205 yr Setting 1 = SBU Setting 5 = AGM (if using gel batteries). USE is for lithiums (I could be wrong here) Settings 12,13, 26 and 29 must be input as per battery recommendations. Edit: Setting 16 must be CSO (some use OSO). if this is set as SNU then you will see the possible events you have been observing. Edited February 26, 20205 yr by Fazil

Growatts are not rebranded Axperts; they seem to be a work-alike or forked design (copied from Axpert long ago, now doing their own thing). So there are no settings 26 and 29 (I think the Growatt equivalents are 19 and 21 respectively). The Charger Source Priority setting for Growatts seems to be setting 14. @DieDusman, I also think it's a setting issue rather than a firmware issue. If you really want to try a firmware update (if all settings adjustments fail), you would have to get it from your supplier (same situation as with Axperts).
March 9, 20205 yr The manual are almost identical but you may be correct. The number configuration may differ but settings don't. Just use the guide.
March 9, 20205 yr I've got a Growatt 3Kv inverter as well. To be honest, my own experience with it hasn't been fantastic though I've been having a different issue to yourself. I've been in contact with Growatt directly as well as the people I bought the inverter from but neither of them has been able to give me a solid answer about the issues I'm facing. The Growatt technician I have been in contact with sent me a firmware update for my issue but loading it didn't solve my problem so I'm not sure it would solve yours. You could possibly try factory resetting the inverter. The Growatt technician sent me a video on how to factory reset it so if you want the video, just let me know.
