Inverters and batteries

Good day all.

I would like to find out about inverters and what size batteries you can connect to them.

I have a expert 24v 3kva plus model and currently have 2 x 12v 200ah batteries in series and would like to add 2 more in parallel to make it 24v 400ah.

Would this damage the inverter?

No, it wont damage the inverter, but if the current batteries are older than 6 months, you should not add more batteries. The internal resistance of old and new batteries vary greatly and the new batteries might fail within a very short time...

HI joca thanks for the reply. I have 2 lead acid batteries now and I am looking to replace them at the end of the year with 4 x 200ah gell batteries. Thanks for the info
