___
Officially the most awesome hackaday project to date. That's some serious arduino-fu! https://hackaday.io/project/10697-autonomous-tractor
DeepBass9
That's amazing based on an Arduino. Driving straight up and down on a tractor is almost as bad as commuting on the N1, so if you could lie in the shade of a tree on the side of a field and watch the proceedings rather than sit on the tractor and rattle your teeth out, that sounds like a good plan. Here's an idea for the arduino fundi's. While I was hoeing my mielie patch last year, I looked over the valley and saw the 'groot boere' spraying their roundup ready (tm) mielies with roundup ready roundup (tm), and wondered if there wasn't an easier way to sort out competitive weeds, rather than the time old way of hoeing that I was busy with, and the liberal application of poisons to the poison resistant GMO mielies that everyone loves to eat. Maybe an application would be to make a solar powered robot, with pruning shears that can recognise the difference between a mielie and a weed, and when the sun comes up the little machine gets to snipping, and when the sun goes down it returns home. I'm sure with modern technology, and maybe a bit of GMO it would be easy to recognise the difference between a crop plant and a weed, Anyway, GMOs and Roundup(tm) are very good for Human health. Guest
I have been following the project for a while. Going to use it soon in one of my projects but not to run on its own. More to plow and plant in a straight line to get max yield.
