Voltronic Power Axpert EX 3KVA 24V (EX-3000-24) Firmware

Hi,

I'm a complete noob here, so excuse me if I'm asking a repeated question, although I made my best in searching.
A few years ago, I bought a brand new Voltronic Power Axpert EX 3KVA 24V (EX-3000-24) inverter from a local retail shop. I'm currently looking to upgrade the firmware of my inverter because the version of WatchPower that came with the unit (1.11) and the latest version (1.13 SP7) both show less than normal settings, and doesn't shows battery discharge current instead of charging current in AC mode. Attached are an image of my inverter's sticker and two screenshots from WatchPower, one showing the current firmware version.
I contacted Emily from Voltronic Power and she just told me that your unit is out of warranty and there's no newer firmware!
Please inform me on what should I do to upgrade the firmware.

Thanks,
Tarek

Can you explain that a bit better, please? Which settings, and what values are you expecting?

By AC mode I assume you mean bypass mode, where AC-in is connected to AC-out. Why would the battery be discharging in this mode?

Voltronic Power are the ultimate source of firmware for these inverters. If they say there is no newer firmware, then that's it; there is nothing you can do.

Thank you for your reply!

1. As screenshot 1 shows, there are a few missing settings including: "Output voltage", "Max SCC charging current", "Charger stage", "CV charger time", "Record fault code". A few months ago, I kept WatchPower open for about 48 hours and suddenly the program started showing more settings and correctly displayed "Charging current" on main screen when in bypass mode. Then, I was never able to keep my laptop connected for this long again and everything reverted to regular when I closed WatchPower and opened it again!

2. I had a typo in this. I meant when in bypass mode, the main interface shows "Battery discharge current" instead of "Charging current" as shown in screenshot 3

3. Isn't there any way to upgrade to a custom firmware?

If you mean patched firmware, someone has to write the patches first. There has been no patched firmware for less than 5 kVA models as yet, and probably never will be.

Thanks again for your replies, I appreciate it so much!

1. Is there any way to show the missing settings and "Charging current" on main screen? I was never able to reproduce how it showed then for once!

2. Can I get a patched firmware for my inverter by paying someone trusted here in this community?

Changing output voltage is one of the situations (changing paralleling mode is another) where you have to have the power switch off. My guess is that Watchpower removes this setting when the power switch is on.

 "Max SCC charging current",

There is no separate setting for maximum PV charging current. There is maximum total charge current, and maximum utility charging current, that's it. I know that there are a few situations where it's good to be able to limit PV charging current, but they are unusual, and the manufacturer has chosen not to provide this setting.

"Charger stage",

You can't direct the charging state directly. I have wished for this setting myself plenty of times.

"CV charger time",

This is only available for 4 kVA and 5 kVA models.

"Record fault code".

I suspect that this is not available on some models, namely those with smaller processors. Yours may be one of these.

I suspect that this may have been a glitch.

I'm not a Watchpower user, but I'd say not.

Not really. No-one other than Weber and myself seem to be interested in doing this, or have the required software and skills, and we don't have 24 V machines to test on. Sorry.
