Swannie Posted January 24, 2021 Posted January 24, 2021 Hi there, just a question please. During charging the batteries from utility (not always), my input voltage and output voltage drops to 182v AC sometimes to 174v ( from 230v). This affects both my inverters due to input voltage to low. I thought fault is from City Power because I had problems before. But the laid a new cable, and the problem is still there. I do have 5KVA Mecer Inverter with 16 100AH batteries. Any ideas why? Quote
Coulomb Posted January 25, 2021 Posted January 25, 2021 The Mecer, like many Axpert models, can only power the loads from utility when utility charging. The inverter is busy charging the battery, so it can't power the loads. South Africa's grid seems to be woeful at times lately, so that's likely the problem. They fixed part of it, but overloads must happen earlier in the generation chain. Quote

(mm²) It is entirely possible for the voltage drop to be due to city power. What kind of voltage do you read at your incoming city power cable? What usually happens is, the amount of people in an area increases and they don't upgrade the transformer and then you have a huge voltage drop at the transformer. Swannie Posted September 30, 2021 Author Posted September 30, 2021 Morning All, Sorry for very very late reply. I didn't log in to the form for a very long time. Above problem was solved, due to a lose nutral on incomming supply from City Power. Thank you so much. Quote
