ewertb Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 (edited) Been doing some window shopping and noticed this Giter brand popped up everywhere. Anyone know anything more about them than just the data sheet as I haven't been able to find much using my google-fu? They are cheaper than the Pylontechs but at 2/3's cycle life and only 2 year warrenty. Also limited to only 6 batteries per bank. Edited February 16, 2021 by ewertb Quote
Chloe Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 Apparently they have a 3 year warranty not a 2 years. From the suppliers: "The Giter 48V batteries are only compatible with the Kodak OG-5.48, OG-PLUS-5.48 and OG-7.2" Datasheet_EN_G2500-24 G2500-48_V01.01122020 (2).pdf Quote
ewertb Posted February 18, 2021 Author Posted February 18, 2021 Thank you. Not being compatible with Victron is a no sell for me... Quote
Gadgets Posted June 17, 2021 Posted June 17, 2021 Has anyone taken the leap on these? I emailed the Chinese company, but did not get any reply. Quote
Chris.let Posted January 26, 2022 Posted January 26, 2022 I bought this battery together with the 5KW Kodak. I don’t know if it’s normal behaviour with other batteries but we can’t use a kettle or microwave with this battery. The inverter can handle the load but the battery can’t. It’s not worth it. Quote

These batteries have a max discharge rate of 1200W, similar to pylontech. Whoever installed your system should have made you aware of this limitation. In fact most (lithium) batteries on the market today with a 2.5KWh capacity will not be able to handle a high power kettle or microwave. Edited January 27, 2022 by P1000 Quote
Justice Mugwena Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 Good day everyone, a customer called me telling me that her solar system is off. I then went and check, upon my arrival I found that is error 9 . When I checked I found that the problem according to manual is BATTERY UNDER VOLTAGE. This system composed of OG-7.2Kw inverter and two batteries. This batteries need to be restarted and that procedure is complicated. Please guys I need your help. Quote

According to the spec sheet: 1 Giter 48V x 25A (0.5C) = 1200W load. 2 in parallel will support a 2400W load. 4 in parallel will support a 4800W load. Edited February 3, 2022 by system32 Quote

So you must use 6 x Giter 2500-48 or limit the maximum battery current in function 41 to the equivalent of battery power available. i.e. 2 x Giter 2500-48 means 50A so set function 41 to 50A. That will limit the inverter power to just below 2000W. Quote
