I have a RHI 5k 48es inverter and wish to control the battery charging times by RS485/Modbus

However, the installer fitted a Wifi Datalogger to upload the stats to the Ginlong website. I would prefer to keep this in place, at least during the warranty period.

My question is, can two RS485 devices talk to the inverter and if so can I make a splitter to plug both the Datalogger and my RS485 USB dongle into the inverter where the datalogger is plugged in currently?

I also have a stack of Pylontech batteries which connect with CAN bus. These have a free RS485 port, could I connect here to talk to the inverter, or does the battery not pass it onto the CAN network?

TIA

Pete
