Wolfie got a reaction from WestCoastUPS in What is a COC worth??Just having completed a SANS training seminar presented by our distributor. For drilling some holes and pulling some wire you require now electrical engineers, municipal permission to provide yourself with what they can not provide. We are in business for 20 years, probably being forced to close down. Never mind many more unemployed and killing off small businesses. Our eclectically contractor is very good and solar proficient - not a single system blown in over 8 years. We try to follow all regulations which becomes impossible. For the client, who is going to CARRY THE COST FOR ALL THESE ENGINEERS - according to SANS, the client? Our electrical contractor checks the systems and issues a COC when all is in order. In my 20 years in business I spend 6 1/2 years in the factories in the far east in RD&QC - I even have done the OLYMPIC Games in Sydney installing systems worth millions of US$ (not Rand). What did our electrical contractor train for all these years if his expertise is now worth nothing? Correct connection YES, Standards YES - but can any one answer what this is??? Why must the normal person on the street pay for ESKOM (state) failure? Has common sense left SA for good? Why are "distributors" are still allowed to sell solar equipment - or is this simple monopolization again?
