hi All...

Been thinking about solar for a while and about ready to take the leap..

looking for a startup system that should be upgradeable later on. 

was thinking rather a good quality 5 kw inverter with a few panels and a battery to start off...final goal is offgrid totally...advice on what i should be looking at ..

most likely self install...i do have electrical experience but none in the way of solar.

would it be better to go with a grid tied system or offgrid with a changeover switch ...long term
