I want to hook up a Sunsun JDP-10000 variable speed 24V pump directly to a solar panel, understanding that it will only work when the sun shines. I would hook up a direct feed from the panel to the controller, bypassing the transformer.
 
Will this work?
Will the controller accept the variable DC wattage and only be on when the watts from the panel match or exceed the setting on the controller [20, 40, 60, 80 or 100W]?
If so, what size solar panel would be recommended?
