Solar Upgrade (Growatt 3KW to Sunsynk 5KW), need some more Canadian Solar Panels of specific rating

Featured Replies

I have been using a Growatt 3kw 48V Offgrid inverter with DIY 2.5KWh battery (16S1P using 70200 cells and 30/60Amp Daly/LBSA BMS) since April 2021 to help me cope with Load Shedding. I added 2x 455W Canadian Solar Panels in June 2021 (just a simple 2S1P configuration). I Added Another 2x 450W Canadian Solar Panels in June 2022 to create a 2S2P Configuration. All this have been working great, and on Average I have been able to generate about 15%/100KWh of my average 650KWh monthly units not to mention the fact that the Load Shedding inconvenience was only a problem for the high wattage appliances aroudn which we needed to plan (like oven and dishwasher).

With the Increasing eskom costs and a good bonus I a few month back I decided to upgrade to a Sunsynk 5KW Hybrid and Dyness BX51100 Battery. After installing the battery and inverter I was pleasantly surprised that the 4 Panels which I reconfigured to a 4S1P was now producing about 10kW on a sunny day. But I also bought a couple more 455W panels, but this is where the problem starts.

I noticed the physical size of the panels is different and when looking up the spec sheet I found that the Canadian Solar CS6L-455MS and the older panels (which I think is CS3W-450MS and CS3W-455MS) is no where close to the same in terms of Working Voltage and Amps and I dare note connect them into a 6S1P configuration (dont want to burn anything)

Does anyone know where I can find some CS3W-450MS panels and if anyone is still stocking them? I have also emailed the supplier where I bought these but to my research it seems Canadian Solar is not manufacturing the Older HiKu (CS3) modules any more.

As an Alternative I guess I can just sell the 4x CS3W Panels and add get 4x CS6L Panels (slight lower voltage with slight higher Amps, but it appears the Sunsynk inverter will be working OK with them)
