System and Battery Settings

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am a new solar user and would like to tweak my settings for our current power situation.

My current system.

5KVA Axpert Inverter
4x 100AH Royal Batteries (1111k model)
4x 300W Panels
Current output load on the system max's at around 1000W  (ave 400 - 800W)

I feel that my batteries should always be fully charged (like 95% +).  I don't want to be in a situation where we have loadshedding in the evening and I start that session of with 70% charged batteries.  At the same time I would like to feel a benefit on my electricity bill... By this i mean that I think I have sufficient Panels to run my load and charge my batteries during the day.

Yesterday at around 4pm we had loadshedding.  The Panels seemed to carry the load with the batteries to around 6pm when I heard it switch over to batteries only, which all made sense.  At 8pm when the power came back on I had to manually change it from SBU to Utility so that my batteries would charge again, this is obviously something one does not want to do every day.  I am sure there is a setting that would kick back to Utility when the batteries reach a certain %, but I want to immediately charge my batteries back to full when the power comes back on at night.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Patrick
