Good day all, been thinking about alternative power to cope with load shedding and finally made the decision to start with my most pressing issue i.e. continuous power during loadshedding. Decided on the Huawei Isitepower due to distance from DB to garage, low noise, integrated engineered system, expandable by adding batteries and solar panels and also separate inverter should the need arise. Downside is that the Fusionsolar functionality will only available sometime this quarter. (not really an issue for now as it just a large ups for now)
Unit was installed yesterday and last nights loadshedding...well, what load shedding 😁
I have all plugs and lights connected all seems well. It is true that once one starts using alternate power one becomes acutely aware of energy usage at home.
Next steps are to
convert all light bulbs to LED (90% are already done)
install geyser timers(need to find something with battery backup as these are not wired in
investigate more efficient geyser heating elements
investigate solar kit for swimming pool motor
solar panels
Thanks for a great informative forum.
