  1. Thank you we will try this tonight and see what the readings are
  2. Can anyone offer some advise please. After adding 3 additional panels to my solar system the panels do not switch off completely at night. They show a voltage on each string of between 60 and 75v with 0 amps and 0w. What would cause this problem?

There is no error or fault. The noise is what the inverter makes when the panels switch on in the morning. We cannot see any U3 on the display

So far this evening both strings are zero on all readings and are not showing up on the inverter screen. If it should change I will measure the voltage and post results here. Thank you very much for assistance

Thank you for your reply. This is the label on the side of the inverter. We do have 2 strings as you have stated. They are both connected in series and then each string is attached to the inverter via the 2 MPPT connections. There is no parallel connection between the two strings
  6. We have recently added 3 more panels to our existing 12 panels. 2 were added to one string and 1 to the other string. All the panels are 50v and 455w each. Since adding the extra panels the indication in the screen from the solar panels with switch off at dusk indication no volts, amps or watts. But they then switch back on work an audible sound a few hours later and will continue this process for a few hours. All it shows is a voltage reading under 90v with 0amps and 0w. Is this a problem or would resetting the parameters on the inverter help? Any assistance would be appreciated
  7. Thank you for this. I was wanting to install and Sunsynk but they are out of stock at the moment so going to try for a Victron Quattro 8kW
  8. I am installing JA solar panels on aluminium T6 support rails. How do I prevent galvanic corrosion and electrolysis taking place between the stainless steel nuts and bolts securing the frames to the rails? I have 12 panels JA 454w, 6 panels are to be fitted to one side of the roof (west facing) and the other 6 on the other side (east facing). I intend putting an 8kW inverter, please can someone advise which panels should be connected parallel and series. Thank you

  13. The Mecer is a PF1 which has been given to us without cost, but we were looking at installing an 8KVA Not too sure what the difference between the two sizes will give us. We would like to be off grid as much as possible. We have used the Mecer 2400VA (1440W) inverters in our home for some time now and find that they are not all that reliable
  14. Hi, I am wanting to install a Mecer 5KVA inverter with 10 x 445W Panels. Can you suggest to me a balanced system of panels to KW with the correct amperage and wattage battery in lithium iron (Lifepo4) We need to split the panels to each side of the roof to optimise the sun's rays throughout the day. Part of the roof gets morning sun and the other apex get afternoon sun. Should we scrap this Mecer 5KVA and go for a Sunsynk 8KVA, 10 x 590W Canadian Panels with the same battery? Is there anyone willing to assist me with a schematic for the wiring into my house system which at present has a change over switch and generator system. I would like the generator system to stay and the solar added. The generator will not be used to charge the solar system. Would we need 2 change over switches to achieve this? Many thanks to whoever can assist me. Guy P
