Thanks vir wat, I did swop them but did not notice any difference. Perhaps the inverter takes some time to adjust? Also on the Sunsynk forum a gentleman thats assisting me with the same issue mentioned that the CT clamp is on the wrong cable and should be on this cable?

Hi everyone, I am posting here out of despiration, I hope someone can help. I noticed after my installation that my system was still using ALOT of grid power, between 60-70%. I found this strange as I have a decent sized system and should be 90% off the grid. Here is a link to that post: This is what I have: 8kva Sunsynk inverter 10 x 555w pv panels 12.5kva battery Solar geyser apart from main system. Oven and stove not conected to system. I also posted on Sunsynks forum regarding this, there is a very helpful gentleman on the forum that has assited me with a few pointers. I unticked priority load and limit to load only, under system settings. This from what I understand will help me to use the grid less, which is my main focus. After unticking these boxes my readings on the inverter started to appear incorrect Also from what I understand my CT clamp might be in on the wrong cable and/or facing the wrong direction. Notice the reading of -194watts. Funny thing is that during loadshedding the numbers are correct but when there is grid power the numbers dont make sense. Here we had loadshedding between 12h00 and 02h00: This is how the CT clamp is connected. Any help or advice will be appreciated. Even if someone maybe has the contact number of a technician that has good knowlage of the Sunsynk systems. Many thanks, Oelof

On the system mode, all the tomes on soc/v is set to 50%. Not sure if this is what you are reffering to. I am in Elarduspark, Pretoria

Hi everyone, I have a question regarding my PV's. I have 10 x 555w pannels that can carry all close to 4000w on their own during load shedding. This is the most I've seen. When Eskom power is available the PV's dont even carry half the load, about 60% comes from Eskom. We have changed our lifestyle so that we us the pool pump, washing mashine, dishwasher etc etc during peak sunlight time. If the PV'S cant carry the load there's no point. Is there maybe a setting I have to change on my Sunsynk inverter? Any help will be appreciated. Regards, Oelof

Thanks Scorp. The battery seems to be doing its thing. We have decided not to add the geyser on the inverter because our plan is to get a Geyserwise solar system running separately from the main solar system. We have also put a routine in place to run the washing machine, dishwasher and poolpump separately when its around mid day. The pv's handled all of those appliances today no problem. I think we are on the right path now. Thanks for all the help. 🙏

Thank you Greenfields. Ive changed the persentages to 70% between 17h00 and 21h00 60% between 21h00 and 01h00 and 50% between 01h00 and 05h00. Not sure if that will sort the problem out.

Thanks Greenfields. I would like the inverter to start using eskom power around sunset once the panels loose enough power not to carry the load. I will check tonight when that time is approximately. What do I set on the inverter to make it use battery in the evening?

Hi Bobster. Thank you very much. This was right after the installation, batteries ship at about 50% full. It charged to 100% last night. How do I set the inverter to used my battery and not The grid?

Hi Gmac. That was night time. I have 10 555w jinkos installed. The question is why at night does the inverter us Eskom instead of battery power?

Hi guys, So we quite literally just moved over to solar an hour ago! Exiting times. 😁 I am fairly new to Solar so apologies in advance for stupid questions. My main goal is to safe as much on electricity as possible. Our electricity bill has skyrocketed in the last month or two. I noticed on the Sunsynk app that the inverter is still drawing quite alot from the grid and only 48w from the battery. Should it not be the other way around? Regards, Oelof

This actually got me thinking. Perhaps I should get a geyserwize timer for the geyser to run during daylight hours and then rather invest extra money on a gas oven and stove?

Thanks. I might first see how the geyser runs with the system. Would you rather replace the geyser with solar first or go with a gas stove and oven first?

Thanks for everyones feedback. So I have decided to rather go for a 8kva Sunsynk inverter with a 12.5kva battery and 10 550w solar pannels. From what Ive read its much easier get 95% off the grid than completely. My main goal is to be almost off the grid appart from those rainy weeks and to save on my electricity bill as much as possible and be loadshedding free ofcourse. I hope this system will get me close to my goal? We will also be putting a solar geyser in, which will be apart from the inverter system. I also want to go over to a gas stove and oven, but I will do this at a later stage when I can afford it... solar is damn expensive!!!🥴 I hope I am on the right track and that its worth it at the end of the day? My apologies for the late reply, its been a hectic week. I am not sure how much we use per day, but I buy about 750 units a month. ( we have prepaid )

Hi everyone, I am very new to solar and need some advice. I will try and give as much info as possble and also have a few questions. We are looking into a solar investment but are unsure about what size system to get. We are essentially looking for a system that can almost or completely take us off the grid. I would like to save as much as possible on my electric bill as well. We don't have alot o appliances etc, (or so I think) so my idea is to get a 5kva inverter with a 10-12kva battery and 8-10 solar pannels so that the system can have enough battery storage to get us off the grid or 90% off the grid. Is this even possible with a 5kva? Here is a list of electrical devices around the house: Electric gate motor, double garage motor, 8 channel camara system, alarm system, electric fense system, oven and stove(we are going to go over to gass), pool pump, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, 2 x tv's, wifi, about 400watts of light at night, 400 watt heater in the winter, geaser(wich is going to get converted to solar) hair dryer, microwave, coffee machine, air fryer. This is most of what we have, I have calculted that we will probably not use more than 5kva of power at one time, but I might be wrong. Can a smaller inverter system with more pannels and bigger batteries work? Another question I have is should I get a solar geaser and run it parallel to the solar system or is it better for the geaser to run of the inverter as well? Any advise will be greatly appreciated.
