Thanks Zsde, but i was never able to connect to RS232A on the device. It's a special cable, and serial to usb converter. As such, i was never able to change the battery protocol.
I needed a dsub-9 to rj11, and i don't have either end at home, but the serial to pi, and pi to ICC option at least i had all the parts.

Renier, no, the inverter and the battery seem to speak past eachother.
I have an ICC installation on a raspberry pi which speaks to both, so i can monitor battery and inverter using the same online portal, works rather well.

I had to get a serial to USB converter for the battery to pi connection.
This is similar to the way the hubble BMS setup works.
