  1. have been scratching head on this one, also have a setup that was done yesterday, exactly the same issue. Im seeing that if i disconnect inverter and start up battery , it gives 48v, however it wasnt doing it yesterday, but as soon as inverter is connected (with no additional load), voltage drops. No error indication on battery, run light flashes every now and then, if i press the red button all lights come on for brief period. Possible we have units from a faulty batch?
  2. Good morning everyone. I have searched around on the forum, couldn't find exactly what I want to ask, so please forgive me if it has been asked before. I have 3 phase coming into a premises. Dbs with 1 phase appliances are split onto each phase. I'm curious if one could use single phase Infinisolar inverters for each phase, connect certain critical equipment to the inverter, and feeding whatever PV produces in excess of consumption back into the grid (hopefully to some extend to substitute consumption by appliances not powered by inverter) The reason I would like to explore feasibility of this route is mostly due to the limitation of pylontech's one can connect in parallel
  3. Please ignore, my apologies, i thought my problem could exist on other systems and would make monitoring of this issue inaccurate
  4. Thanks for your response @Coulomb and @DaveSA, I figured as much, I just wanted to confirm that its not just me. A favor gents, if i may... Comparing axpert and ICC values, would you be so kind as to confirm which pv input value from axpert your ICC software "PV watts" makes use of, the 1st or the 2nd (as described by DaveSA)?
  5. Guys, i have a question, and theres a reason im asking it on this post.I also have the 5kw mecer branded axpert mkii s 5kw I installed recently, and I too have noticed what seems to be strange behavior compared to my previous older model... back to my question, if you cycle on the axpert through the menu appearing on your inverter lcd screen, how many "screens" do you get that shows PV input (measured in watts)? If you answer 2 screens, can you educate me on what the difference is between the 2 (knowing its a single mppt model)?
  6. @Coulomb, i see that you are a rockstar. although ive been running a axpert for a few years, i have only updated my firmware once. I have noticed mentioning on a lot of posts of using custom firmware in order to curb float issues. however im clueless at this point. how can i keep up to date with these firmwares, which one(s) to use (i assume theres different firmware for different model axperts and different setups) and what does KettleKomp do?
  7. Hi Jaco, just curious as i havnt worked with pylontech before and i have been saving up to purchase few...could you please explain why the max pv array size is important as you asked , is it because of the rate of charge (i saw few people say to limit to 20a per 2.xkw pylon)?
  8. solarcityrsa? nah...i got one of those paid ads on facebook 2 days ago, 6+kw lion battery on promotion (almost half price of market value), phoned, the guy on the other side just says yes to everything , i ask him to tell me about the batteries they are advertising and his response was, you guessed it, yes! then he hang up. of course the old saying "if its too good to be true, it usually is"
  9. Hi Javi, thanks for the reply. In line mode it doesnt go that high and the aircon is the inverter model
  10. hi there everyone i have been looking a bit, but cant seem to find something similar, so hoping im not double posting I have a bit of a funny situation. My axpert 2.4kw has been running for almost 2.5years, and it use to easily carry the startup and load of my 0.7kw pool pump and a 9000btu aircon. Wiring has never changed About 2 months ago I started noticing that when a heavy (i assume induction) load is introduced (eg my pool pump), my inverter will immediately kick into bypass. If I attempt to run my pool pump without mains present, my inverter will complain bitterly for 10-20 seconds. Thought maybe my pool pump is getting old and requires more power for a longer period than what the inverter is happy for that induction Last week I turned on my aircon with no other heavy load , it was running fine, compressor kicked in and I could see the load rising gradually but within reason, little complains there. Yesterday the aircon made my inverter go back into bypass at startup, i then had a more in depth look, with a average of 300w usage (tv fridge etc) I turned the aircon on without the mains present, error code 7 (which is overload timeout) started flashing, beeping away, and I notice that consumption climbing up and up and up past 4.5kw, to which i then immediately turned the mains back on for the bypass to kick in. Now I know one can argue that the load is too heavy for the inverter, but running my system for so long and knowing what It use to run, Ive never seen any form of load from my appliances attempting to draw so much according to my inverter, even if I ran my 9kbtu aircon, pool pump, tvs , fans etc simultaneously in the past. Could my inverter be on its way out? Anybody have some advice or insight for a amateur like myself how to better troubleshoot? I have a 2.2kw solar array, i never introduce heavy loads on the batteries alone I have 4 x 160a agm batteries, decent condition, balanced Appliances and cables running them is fixed and thus has never changed
