  1. Ok so looks like this is the case, the box on the outside says "None" but inside there is a dedicated instructions pamphlet showing how to connect up to 6 units in parellel. I've had time to open the box and take a bunch of photos. I put them all in an Google Photos album you can view here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/9ztPDuSfYZrBEz7G8 I've scanned the two manuals so that it's easier to read, see attached: Omni-Volt GII - User Manual-compressed.pdf Omni-Volt GII - Parellel Operations.pdf
  2. The box damage seems to be dependant on the kW of the unit.... the more kW... the more damage 🤣 (ok fine, the more kW... the heavier, so I guess the more dragging and the less carrying problem) Yes, I'll definitely share what I find, but I'm completely new to inverters, have looked at many videos, but never bought one. So I won't add value except comparing notes. Will check once I've managed to get mine laid down and open. It is currently standing on its side in my hallway where they delivered it. Yea, it makes sense that it has this feature, it is usually something that is not included on 3kW units because they are so small (don't know the technical reason). But from 5kW up, they usually have it. But it may be a case of "marketing" vs. "engineering" problem. Honestly, I think these "generic" inverters are build from various off the shelf parts, so it could be a rebranded unit or something that was built from various piece of other China models. So maybe they use the same firmware/screen as Voltronic, or maybe it is a rebranded Voltronic. Either way... we are all going to find out soon, when we dive in...
  3. Morning all, I got my 15kW inverter Yesterday. The box is huge, indicates that it's 127kg. I haven't had time to look at it yet, but once I have time (hopefully this afternoon) I will take a bunch of photos and put them up on a album. Something I've noted is that mine says explicitly that it does not support parrelleling, but will take lots of photos of the box so we can see. The box is also in a bad state, but with this weight I can't say I don't expect it.
  4. Yea I think it would be worthwhile to get the needed info on here, so that the more experienced, can give them their blessing or curse. The special is still on, and although the products seem to come and go, so far two has received their inverters, so it's worth buying them if they make sense otherwise.
  5. So on a side note. I just took delivery of my Goscor LiFePO4 100Ah batteries for R1,040.00 each. They look normal, but here is a picture of a thousand words: I'm going to install them into my "Smart Power System" SPS-1000 (Loadshedding) UPS. So can't say I have any details to provide for them. But regarding the UPS, this thing is very awesome to have, I have a box PC that stays on 24/7 as a backup server but I also work on it on a daily basis. This trolley had numerous times where it would flip in and out of service, to protect everything from slight lightning surges, when I accidentally trip the power, or when they cut the power to work on lines. It could sustain the load for 4 hours with Lead Acid batteries. They did deteriorate fast, as they were basically damaged after about 2 years.
  6. Yes I'm also unclear as to why it is only coming on Friday, I expected it to be today since I ordered my last week Monday. I'm in Bloem, guess they first have to ship it to Cape Town 🤣
  7. I phoned them and they confirmed that mine is delivering on Friday. I did not heard anything from the installation service. I highly doubt it exist anymore, since they said the courier will deliver the unit and also the checkbox changed nothing on the order.
  8. Thanks! No this price range is also fine. You can't get these premium features if you go for the bottom ranges. It's just that the DEYE and Sunsynk is really expensive (not even mentioning Victron). I'll research the Solis brand as well.
  9. Thanks I'll look at Luxpower, I did see they seem to be mentioned a lot. I also had the idea of looking for the CT coil as this is required, but again you have to really dig or watch "unboxing" videos to see if it is included 😅
  10. Are you aware of any budget (Cheaper than DEYE and SunSync) line inverters available today that can do the push back? It's really hard to know if budget models have the feature or not. The base models are not clearly indicated on the rebranded units most of the time.
  11. Once we have the first units to investigate we will quickly know if it is totally garbage. Based on current feedback I will have mine only by next week Tuesday/Wednesday. Based on my [limited knowledge] assessment, a 8kW unit is basically large enough to put most if not all of your house on solar. Correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I remember the earlier Hybrid inverters (1) lacked the ability to use both grid (AC) + battery (DC) + solar (DC) to sustain your critical load and would switched to a grid bypass (or generator power) as soon as the sun + batteries didn't provide enough power? Then later they gained the ability to use grid + solar + batteries for the critical load, but (2) lacked the ability to push power back to your non-critical load (without export). Something newer expensive units like SunSync and DAYA can do now. So I'm curious if these units will be able to do 1, or 1 and 2. I will not put my money on (2) but I'm hopeful it can do at least (1). I have not research Voltronics units like @Sidewinder suggested.
  12. @Sidewinder @Demo I see the links are working again today, and the prices are still the same. You can use the links in my first post or just find the items on the website! Edit: Also I have confirmation that the units are being delivered. The guy from carbonite.co.za that ordered the 3kW unit has received his unit today!
  13. We are taking bets now... what will it be... a refund or an inverter... btw. I'm not the only one that bought one, I saw on https://carbonite.co.za/index.php?threads/deals-deals-deals-3-0.570886/post-3970359 another guy bought a 3kW one.
  14. What is it with solar products/companies! Just check all of the Power4Less products, even the expensive Solar kit is now showing this error. Maybe since last night some have notices the deals are too good to be true and bought a bunch of them. I also bought two Goscor LiFePO4 100Ah batteries for R2,080.00 (excl.) for both! (Also a steal!) from https://offgridpowersolutions.co.za/ . Just after that they confirmed that they are assembling my order and immediately after the batteries was "out of stock" on the site, but when I bought there were more than 2 left in stock.
  15. Thanks @Sidewinder , this is very good information to start off with. I unfortunately don't know inverters as well as you do, so I can't even agree or not. But the way you describe everything sounds like it could be as you mentioned. The units also claim that they have WiFi monitoring, and it seems to be included. So not sure if this would be helpful. But honestly I'm now wondering if they will just refund me rather than sending me an 8kW inverter for this price 🤣 Appreciate your effort! If I do get the unit I will be able to confirm your findings by being able to send more detailed pictures or photos of the tags. Look if you read up on the Power4Less website, on their about us page, you can see it is apparently two women that are the owners. I have nothing against women, but I don't expect that they started the company as two electrical engineers invested in PV. (Basically compare that to SunSync's owner/ceo/youtube guy. He sounds and look like someone that has a passion for PV). So I believe this was a simple business in a box type of start-up and I also believe that the hardware will be clones or assembled from existing (like all else, China inverters) just to get something out of the door, cheaply. This also explains the lack of technical information, like user manuals and data sheets from the website.
  16. Oh just quickly, this is funny! When I search for the products I can still find them on Builders.co.za but when I click on the link the site says the page are not there. Attached is the two screenshots of the result when you search for "power4less" and then just filter based on the "power4less" brand.
  17. I've came across this brand of inverter + battery combo by accident. Basically was looking for replacement 100Ah Lithium batteries. Long story short, these inverters (especially Power4Less Omnivolt G2 3 kW Hybrid Kit at R4,999.00 at Builders Warehouse) was cheaper than buying 2 x 105Ah Lithium batteries. So I looked at the other options: Power4Less Omnivolt G2 3 kW Hybrid Kit @ R 4,999.00 (originally R 48,998.00) Power4Less Omnivolt G2 5 kW Hybrid Kit @ R 9,999.00 (originally R 68,998.00) Power4Less Omnivolt G2 8 KW Hybrid Kit @ R 14,999.00 (originally R 59,999.00) Power4Less Omnivolt G2 10 kW Hybrid Kit @ R 29,999.00 (originally R 69,999.00) They are all priced under the cost of just the batteries they contain. All of them come with the exact same size LiFePO4 battery. My biggest problem is that there is absolutely zero information about these units online. Not even the limited-built-by-a-marketing-team Power4Less website (https://pwr4less.com/), has any technical information on them. But with the ability to buy a 8kW inverter, including a 8kWh LiFePO4 battery for R15k. I decided this seems like a good starting point to get involved in setting up Solar for my home based office and house. I've used the UPS (load shedding) trolley as a way to keep my office server running 24/7, and it is not the best at it, as it can only sustain about 2-4 hours with the current Lead Acid batteries. But with this unit, even if it is bad in many ways will keep the server up for much longer. So the reason for posting this is to ask if anyone have tried the Power4Less units? (I also don't even know how long they have been available) Look at the original prices, I believe that there were many alternatives that you can go for with much more information on how they work and their abilities. I would not dump R60k on something that has so little information. Also to their credit, they [were/are] sold as fully installed solutions. So when you paid the full price, that also included someone installing it at your house. This is probably why it was so expensive. It seems like with the lower price they have dropped the installation. But even still without the installation, they are currently cheaper than the LiFePO4 batteries that come with them. So I've invested (I hope) in the 8kW option, and wanted to start a new thread where I can post the specs and experience I have with the unit once it has arrived and I can take decent photos and test/install the unit.
