  1. Hi. Issue still not resolved. I'm currently running the system without an earth cable. The moment I connect the earth, the screen goes off. I doubt that it has to do with the BMS cable. But until now I'm still unable to get the BMS connection working. I reached out to both the battery and inverter vendors and did exactly as they said, but still unable to get comms working. As a start, I will suggest that you set your inverter's battery setting to "User" or manual, enter charging values as per SVOLT battery specs, and from there you can connect your BMS cable and try to get them communicating. Some forums say that the Pylon battery setting should work for the SVOLT. It would be interesting to know if yours work, as the Kodak and RCT are basically the same thing.
  2. Electrical shock while touching PV+ and PV- might actually sound obvious, but I actually mean, touching them individually and it's grounding through my body to earth. I also forgot to mention, everything is grounded very well. Panel frames/rails, Inverter and battery are all grounded as it should be, with 3 x new earth spikes planted inside a 100cm deep excavation.
  3. Hi all. I would appreciate some advise and your input. I have the following off-grid system: RCT-INFINISOLAR V4 5.6K-48V Inverter SVOLT 51.2V 106AH 5.43 KWH A-GRADE WALL MOUNT LITHIUM BATTERY 8 x 470w Jinko solar panels (4 x panels in series and the two strings connected parallel) At first, I picked up an issue where the battery built in BMS screen goes dead. I figured that this only happen when the PV breaker is switched on. When I reboot the battery and the whole system restart with the PV breaker off, the screen stay on. Other than the screen going dead, the system is working 100%. It's charging perfectly fine and supplying the loads. With further troubleshooting, I figured that when I remove the grounding cable from the battery casing, the issue dissapear and the battery screen stay on while PV breaker is switched on. I then further noticed an electrical shock coming from touching PV+ and PV-. I switched off the PV breaker and still noticed the same which told me that the voltage is coming from the inverter side. I tested and found some AC voltage on the inverter's PV input terminals while PV breaker is off, and even at night. Voltage jump very quickly around 200 volt. I suspect that the AC leaking through to the DC side is causing the issue with the battery screen, the moment the ground wire is connected. I found some forums where people experience the same AC voltage on the DC side. Some say it's normal. Some noticed the same on different inverter brands. Some say that it's completely wrong to detect AC voltage on the DC side. I however suspect that the battery may just be too sensitive, hence I'm picking up this issue, while other users might also have some AC voltage leaking, but are not aware. I hope everything explained make sense, and that somebody may shed some light on this please. Another question. Is there anybody who managed to connect a SVOLT battery with a RCT inverter for communication ? I tried CAN and RS485 with no luck. I used the pinout in RCT inverter and SVOLT battery manuals, dipswitch number 1 set to on, rest off, inverter setting set on Pylon, rebooted the system after each change, but no luck. Your advise will be much appreciated.
  4. Hi Benji. Thanks for the info, sorry for responding so late. I did some further troubleshooting and got a bit closer to my issue. In my case, as soon as I restart the battery, the screen come back on until I switch on the PV breaker. I thought to remove the grounding cable from the battery casing, and the issue was resolved. I figured that there's some AC voltage on the PV input terminals on the inverter while PV is disconnected. I assume that it's also feeding to the battery and causing some issues when the battery is grounded together with the PV generating voltages. I did read on a few forums that it's normal to have some AC on your PV input, some tested and confirmed the same, even on different inverter brands, and others say it should not give out any AC on PV. I'm still not sure. I guess I'll post on this forum and hear what the guys say. For the battery communication I also tried many cables, CAN, and RS485 but cannot get it to work. I'm struggling to get support from the vendors. I will also ask again on this forum for some help, maybe someone got it working. Thanks for your response.
  5. Good day. I have a similar issue. SVolt 5.4kWh 106AH Lithium Ion Battery connected to RCT Hybrid RCT-INF V4 5.6K-48V inverter. It was working 100% until I tried to connect the battery communication cable to the Inverter. Screen went dead. Battery still functioning 100%, charging, and powering the inverter/load. When restarting the system by switching the battery off, the screen come back up, but as soon as inverter's relay's kick in, the screen dies. I also removed the COM cable completely for now and set the inverter battery on USER as it was working perfectly fine before. I figured that when switching off the PV breakers, leaving the PV breakers off and then restarting the battery, it works, and the screen stay on. The moment I switch the PV breakers back on, the screen on battery goes dead again. Everything work 100%. Charging very well from solar panels, and no issues running the load. To me it feels like things went wrong the moment I tried to connect the COM cable and set the inverter's battery option to Pylon (they say the SVOLT work on Pylon settings) I just have no idea why is it not working when PV is connected and is perfectly fine while PV not connected. Did you ever find the cause / solution to this ? Anybody else on this forum had a similar experience ? Your comments will be much appreciated, as this doesn't make sense to myself anymore as well. Regards
