  1. OK thank-you this makes a lot of sense now. I hesitantly brought up the CT clamp placement with the installer but being a novice I can't really challenge him on it. The included Yuanxing Split Core CTSA016 has a lead length of 3 meters I believe, but my inverter is placed just under 11 meters from my DB. Perhaps the installer was unsure of how to extend the leads any further, or just was unwilling to put in the effort but regardless we're both going to learn now. I've read other members on this forum have had good results by extending the CT leads with a CAT5 or CAT6 STP cable so I'll try to go that route and hopefully it works out.
  2. Hi, I have an Aotai AEP-8KS48P single phase hybrid inverter with a 5kWh LFP battery. The system is connected to 15 TrinaSolar 585W N-Type panels and they're wired into 2 strings of 8 and 7 panels each. I have a few household breakers in my DB wired up as critical loads, smart loads. The remainder of breakers are normal non-essential loads not directly backed up by the inverter. I've had my solar energy system installed for almost 3 weeks now. I'm facing a puzzling issue with the solar energy system though. On the inverter screen it shows almost all the power generated by the panels is being diverted to power loads in the home during the day. But even if I have most of my loads turned off (for example if no one is home) it still shows entire power is consumed and nothing feeding into the grid. I've been checking the utility meter on the edge of my property and it's clear from the meter I'm exporting significantly more units than the inverter thinks. I have a feeling something is wrong with the CT, perhaps it's configured incorrectly or malfunctioning. I've called my solar installer back to review his install and he says everything he has done is fine. According to him the CT needs to be installed on the grid input/output line for the inverter, and that's the cable the right by the inverter the CT is clamped to. This cable is spliced to a connection point near my mains breaker in the DB. Anyhow the installer kept on insisting there's something wrong with the software and the company needs to put out a software update to correct it, nothing to worry about etc. Honestly it sounds like he's trying to wash his hands of any responsibility. I'm curious if anyone has any idea what might be going on and how I can resolve it. Appreciate any help.
