Good day all, I need some assistance please. We live on a small-holding just outside Paarl and cable-theft is driving us bonkers. Load shedding is one thing but cable-theft typically leaves us without electricity for at least 18 hours per pop. We’ve been again without electricity on Easter Friday… – so I need to look at some options – but before going to contractors I thought it would be good to ask some objective advice from the forum. I need some assistance in terms of an off-grid system (not connected to EKOM anymore) specification for our current 60A single phase connection. Our electricity demand is typical of a big household – approximately 500-700 kwh per month or approximately 18-24 kwh per day (we run some water pressure pumps and sewage pumps). We are in close proximity of a wind-farm and consider wind as a viable option.
