InfiniSolar Grid Tie Standard
Based on advice found in this forum, I have selected the German VDE0126 Grid Tie Standard for my InfiniSolar 3+. However, I found that the line frequency in Pretoria regularly exceeds 50.1 Hz resulting in a "2009 Power grid frequency exceeds the upper threshold" error. I would like to change the "Max grid-connected frequency" parameter to 50.2 Hz but it requires a Factory Password Can anybody help please?

Surge Protection Devices
Hi Godfried, I paid R147.00 each for 2x 10A/1000V Solar fuses at ACDC and 2x R76.00 for the holders. I chose to use a DC rated 100A C/B for the 48V battery bank - No fuse. I do hope the 10A fuses will not blow too easily - 10A is the maximum recommended fuse size for my DC surge protection device.

Hi Green Bum Thanks for your relocation suggestion, but I like my panels at a 25° degree inclination ;-) My configuration is: 1) Voltronic Infini 3+ Inverter 2) 12x Renesola 255W Panels 3) 24x Shoto GFM 300Ah batteries 4) Victron BMV 702 Battery Monitor 5) An Arduino MEGA 2560 based OpenEnergyMonitor and Victron/Voltronic Serial Gateway (In Progress)

Surge Protection Devices
Hi Janma, Thank you for your comprehensive answer! One observation though: The MicroCare Single String Box only has a single-pole SPD in it. I would imagine one should ideally have an SPD and Fuse on each of the positive and negative wires coming from the roof.

Another newbie question: I have 12x 255W panels in series on my roof feeding into an Voltronic Infini 3+ inverter some 10 meters away. 1) Should I get Type I or Type 2 or a combination Type 1+2 DC SPD? 2) Should I install it on the roof close to the panels or inside close to the Inverter? 3) Any product recommendations? - I am looking at a Cirprotec PSC3-12,5/600PV but it is VERY expensive. Your advice will be much appreciated!

InfiniSolar 3+ noob questions
Hi Wetkit, I want to run the unit as an UPS (Off-Grid Mode 1 based on your recommendation) until I have installed my panels and then grid-tie the Infini with feed-back into the grid. My street meter box is locked but when I last saw my meter quite a few months ago, it was still an electro-mechanical disc-type meter which should be able to spin backwards. I should actually try to hire somebody with a master key in the Garsfontein area to come and check if it is still the case.

InfiniSolar 3+ noob questions
Thank you Wetkit I have one follow-up question: Mustek gave me a filter unit with an input (mains side) connector and an output (inverter side) connector. Why do you think this filter is necessary and what will happen if I start feeding power back to the grid from the 'output' to the 'input' of the filter?

InfiniSolar 3+ noob questions
Can someone please help me with the following questions relating to an InfiniSolar 3+ ? 1) Which grid-tie standard (E.g. VDE0126/VDE4105 etc) is recommended for SA? 2) Exactly what is the difference between Off-Grid modes I & III relating to Inverter Mode, relay, overloading and transfer time? 3) Does the unit connect Neutral to Earth when AC falls away, i.e. will an earth leakage circuit breaker between the Infini and the load work? 4) What is the significance / downside of enabling
