Newbie from Cape Town needs advice

Featured Replies

Good morning all.

I need advice on how to improve my current system.

I have a Kodak OG-Plus 5.48 inverter, 15 x 330W panels and 2 x Iseli 48V 100Ah 4800Wh Lithium Batteries.

Is this system optimal to run my house? 4 bedroom house with 2 bedroom flat.

Daily average was 24kwh before solar geyser was installed.

Priority settings is Solar, Batteries, Utilities(if i got the settings right).

Pool pump will only run during the day, when sun is shining. Solar Geyser. Gas oven/stove.

Any suggestions as to what to change, do better, change settings, etc?

Thank you.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating. The energy demand by your house likely hasn't changed much, so you need to check if your system is shouldering that load. Even if it's only the crude check of reading your municipal meter on a daily basis.

Monitoring tools such as ICM are better still because they can show what your house was demanding at what time of day, and whether or not your system was meeting the demand.

Be guided by the numbers.

And be aware that you're not off grid. But if you run the system properly you will take a huge chunk out of your electricity bill and have protection against load shedding.
