Low voltage after load shedding

Featured Replies

We had load shedding from 8:00 to 10:30(ish) today. Look at this graph from SEMS

looks odd. Battery is fully charged, nice sunny day, PV to spare, and when the load goes up, the system starts drawing from grid instead of supporting the load using PV or battery.

Seems like what has happened is that

  1. on restoration grid voltage was low (< 190V)
  2. the pool (not backed up) starts running
  3. because of the low grid voltage, the inverter is refusing to reconnect to grid - and that's why PV and batteries aren't supporting the load
  4. my meter is running because I am drawing from grid😪
  5. thus great is my discontent

Seems to have cost me about 0.3 of a kw/h 😮
