Posted March 12, 20232 yr I live on a farm in rural KZN and don’t have many options for technical support close by. I’m also no electrician… Thanks to Leshen for providing me with some advice so far. I’m also posting here looking for further advice. I had a 5.5kw Sunsynk inverter and 5kwh Greenrich battery installed recently. On Friday 8x545 watt JA Solar panels were added on 1 MPPT. North facing. The pv has been providing well for my essential load. The export to non essentials while not experiencing load shedding has been confusing though. On the system settings with “zero export” ticked and “limit to load” as well as “solar export” unticked, the non essentials (oven and geysers on my setup) don’t receive any pv. If I tick “solar export”. The non essentials then draw from the pv. I have read that it is certainly not supposed to work this way? I have done this test running my oven this morning. What also confuses me is that when I switch the oven off (after it has been drawing from PV with “solar export ticked”) The load still appears on my inverter flow diagram. It only drops down to what I believe the real value should be if i drop and reset the “essential load” circut breaker on the inverter db. Exactly the same happened when testing with my geysers yesterday. The ct coil seems to be at the correct location on the incoming grid feed before any loads. I have tried switching it around by swapping the coil wires in the inverter. The data display doesn’t show much change. Only briefly did “ct” display negative 10 watt which then went back to 0 watt. I thought there would have been a big difference. Any advice would be appreciated. (At this stage i don’t know how to reduce image file size in order to post photos)
