Posted March 24, 20231 yr Hi, I had a 8kw Sunsynk installed with 1 x Hubble am-5 battery, when the grid fails or its load shedding and the inverter switches to battery there is a small dip, my PC will lose power and lights dip as well, I'm sure this is not suppose to be the case as it is suppose to switch seamlessly. Setting are mostly default 50Hz, 220v, battery coms are working. Does anyone maybe have an idea as to what the issue might be? Regards Nelius

Regards Nelius The transfer time on the Sunsynk Inverters are below 10ms, it is unlikely that this is causing your issue. How old is the PC, specifically the PSU? Your issue with the PC will likely be solved it you invest in a new and decent PSU. Remember that this is a Hybrid inverter, meaning that when Eskom is present the inverter has to synchronise its output to both the Volts and the Frequency of the Eskom grid (to be able to push back power into the grid). When grid falls away the inverter output will immediately change from whatever the grid was supplying to a very stable 230V and 50Hz. It is likely that this sudden change is causing your lights to flicker. I notice my lights flicker as well even though I run permanently of a DC supply into the inverter, so there is no transfer time. Some people don not notice the flicker. The change over is made worse if you stay in an area with abnormally high voltage fluctuations /unstable grid supply.
March 28, 20231 yr Author Hi, I have retested and everything is working fine. Thanks for the info and assistance. With kind regards, Nelius van Eeden
