April 29, 20233 yr I recently had a Sunsynk 5.5Kw inverter installed paired with a Sunsynk SUN-BATT-5.32 5Kw battery. My question is : “Is it necessary to enter any battery charge and discharge settings manually or does the inverter “read” the required info automatically via the network cable that connects the battery to the inverter? Obviously one would like to stretch the lifespan of the battery as far as possible. That is why I would like to ensure optimal settings. Thank you in advance.
April 29, 20233 yr You should enter the charge and discharge current. The batteries can limit the inverter settings further but cannot exceed it. The voltage settings don't matter on CAN interface.
April 29, 20233 yr Author Thank you, frivan. Given the attached Nominal (50A) and Max (100A) charge/discharge specs, what would be the best charge and discharge rate to set the inverter at?
April 29, 20233 yr You have to set discharge to 100A to get 5kW out of your inverter. While you could set battery charging to 50A, I like charging my battery slowly. My system is set to charging the battery at 20A. You could also limit gird charging to 20A but allow solar to charge more quickly. Edited April 29, 20233 yr by frivan

I know where to change the battery charging setting but how would you allow solar to charge more quickly (Deye 5kw Inverter) ?

On the first tab of the battery settings you can set the maximum charging current of the battery, 50A. On the second tab you can set the grid charging limit, 20A. You can also play with the system mode timer if you want to set time specific limits but this is a bit more advanced.

Brilliant - thank you for that!!! I am hoping once I get Solar Assistant up and running this will be a lot easier to do!!!
