Wake Up/Enable signal Inverter-Battery

Hi guys!

Hybrid inverters got Enable- and Enable+ terminal (in additions to RS485 connections) used for waking up the batteries but how this wake up signal works?

Is it a signal from inverter to battery or vice versa? Are they a data signal, dry contacts or live wire?
