Goodwe GW5048D-ES Operating Mode issue

Featured Replies

First time posting, so the info on my installation:

10x335W panels, 1xDyness BX51100 5.12Kw and the Goodwe 5048ES.

The system is working 100%, no BMS issues, Goodwe smart meter is correct, DoD on-grid set to 60%, DoD off-grid set to 80% and firmware version is 6232317.

The problem I am experiencing is that if I set the inverter to General Mode (and power cycle the inverter) it will operate as expected from General Mode by using PV during the day to carry the load and charge the batteries, in the evening it will use the battery until the on-grid SOC is reached (if no load shedding) and then start using ESKOM.

But it will only do this for exactly 24 hours and then it will simply stop using the battery and print the following diagnostic message in the SolarGo/PV Master app:

The Battery cannot discharge: charge time ON Please check whether the charging parameters are normal.
The actual parameter settings are as follows:
Parameter - start time for charging:0:00
Parameter - end time for charging: 0:00

From here on it will not use the battery - even if I use the app to set the mode to General Mode again, it will simply not.

Only way to get it working as expected in General Mode is to power-cycle the inverter after which it will work fine for exactly 24 hours.

Anyone have any idea why the inverter is behaving in this way and how to fix the issue?
