Growatt SPF5000ES "Grid Phase Error", "Over Temperature", Error 2

Featured Replies

Dears,
After over 1 year of installation, I received the following 2 errors at same time for my Growatt SPF5000ES Off Grid inverter:

Event description:
Grid phase error(Warning)
Over temprature(Warning)

The red light keeps flashing, so I had to disable the alarm. Every now and then I receive an email with one of the above 2 event descriptions. The inverter keeps running and charging normally.

Any idea what needs to be done to fix this issue? I heard from the solar guys that this problem is typical for this type of inverter.

Appreciate your support and suggestions.

Have a great day,

Fadi

I have the same inverter and after 1 and half year I got the same fault. Any info of what could be the reason and does it has any effect on the operation ?

So far the inverter is running as if nothing happened. It is always in the fault status, so I would not be able to find out if an over-temperature occurs. I keep getting push messages and emails from the app about the faults. I have been told it could be an MPPT issue. I also found a YouTube video suggesting a soldering on the board that could fix the issue, but I have not tried it.

I cleaned the inverter, the red flashing light disappeared! Please clean your inverters from dust. Disassemble it, and remove the dirt.
