October 1, 20232 yr So I have a full enphase system and I'm in a no export area. I bought three batteries online and one of them was a different version, even though it was the same size and capacity, and I can't use it with the normal enphase stuff/app. I spent 2000 bucks on the battery and then 1000 to import it so I don't want to put it in the trash and would like to do something with it. Some details: I have a enphase 3.3kw first gen battery and it's discharge/charge rate is 1.25kw/hour max. I'm in Costa Rica so it was expensive to import it and I can't sell it. I make way too much power from my solar and the system is always running about 60 percent capacity during the day, even charging the existing batteries. In my area in Costa Rica there is always sun from 8-12 99 percent of the time. There is never sun at night and I use at least .5kw/h when I'm not home and 1.5kw/h when I am home from midnight to 6am. I get charged both directions on the meter, in or out. So I don't want to export anything, although a little doesn't matter too much. Would like to use the existing LiFePo battery from the enphase system, with just a dumb 1kw/h charge from 8:30 to 11:30 and probably a .5kw discharge from midnight to 6am. I have a 100% cement pool pump house where I can put this that has a 240 plug I can use but won't burn the house down if it goes up in smoke. ANy suggestions on what I should buy? I'm a fairly good electrician, I'm also enphase certified, but I don't know much about battery charge/discharge controllers. I could probably study and figure it out, but sometimes experience counts for more than the head knowledge I can find online.
