December 18, 20232 yr Hi all, What are the regulations when it comes to selecting a suitable size for your earth conductor in a single phase AC installation? I’ve had a look through SANS 10142-1 but struggled to find a straight forward answer - maybe I missed something? I plan to install a sub-DB upstairs and need to run 10mm2 cable through the embedded wall conduits with a total cable length of around 12 meters. I’m not worried about saving a couple a couple bucks and buying smaller earth cable, my issue is the conduits are quite small and it’s going to be a really tight fit if I have to use 10mm2 earth cable too. Would it be legal to run 10mm2 phase conductors with 6mm2 earth conductor? Thanks in advance
