July 6, 20241 yr An installer changed our house to prepaid on Thursday, showed me how to set up the meter, and left. When trying to purchase electricity at Spar, they said there's an error "unknown meter number". No answer at City Power call centre, or response to a call log. I finally got through to the call centre today, and they said I need to register the meter, with my ID, either at the depot or calling again on Monday. This is the first time I hear about the need to register the meter - is this standard procedure? I expected this to have been covered by the application process? Also, any advice on the success of registering it over the Call Centre, or should I rather go in to the depot?
July 9, 20241 yr That’s not correct the registration of the meter to you/property should have been done whilst there were there. You can also try logging a call on https://citypower.mobi/login and try escalating it via X or your Ward Councillors.
