Deye / Solarman doesn't reconnect to Wifi

Hi. Anyone know how to troubleshoot a Solarman dongle on a Deye not reconnecting to the wifi. 

It's been configured, been working fine; however if the wifi ever drops out the inverter never reconnects to it. It has to be taken through the network configuration all over again on the app to get it online. 

Possible clue to the problem: the dongle is not discoverable all the time - when going through the network configuration on the device, the dongle doesn't show its "AP_...." wifi network unless it's been disconnected and restarted. Even the reset button doesn't prompt it to show its network.
