November 26, 20241 yr Please, help me understand why Growatt SPF3500ES fluctuates SOC from 94% to 100% all the time. I use it with Dyness B4850 battery connected via CAN and set up as Li52. I'm attaching the battery SOC graph.
November 26, 20241 yr It's a Growatt bespoke algorithm. They maintain that it's better for Li batteries to float down to 95% and then recharge to 100% than to float at 100% continuously. As soon as your batteries are at 100%, they power the Inverter even if there is enough solar. I have tried arguing with them, to no avail. Do they or anyone else have enough long term data to compare battery life when using either or? I doubt that That's what their inverters are programmed to do and they won't change it. Only way to stop that is to use one of the USE modes. Edited November 26, 20241 yr by zsde
November 28, 20241 yr Author That's what I was afraid of. Thank you very much for clarifying. Do you use USE modes and are there any downsides to using it instead of relying on BMS connection? Edited November 28, 20241 yr by Arnya Druk
